John K. Olliver

John K. Olliver joined DECISION in 1994 as Director of international research.

After brief experiences in banking and economic journalism, John K. Olliver worked for 25 years as expert consultant in the fields of electronics and electrical engineering at the BIPE (Bureau d’Information et de Prévisions Economiques), a French economic research organism based in Paris, where he conducted and directed a number of research projects for industry, the public authorities and the European Commission.

John was in particular responsible for the elaboration of a database on the world production of electronic equipment and components, and for developing monitoring and forecasting systems for the sales of electrical equipment for trade associations.

For the last 20 years, John K. Olliver has been responsible for DECISION’s European projects in the fields of electronics and electrical engineering. He implemented a database on passive electronic components, and on electronic equipment markets and production in Europe and the main regions of the world.

John also conducted a number of projects on the impact of the deregulation of the electricity supply sector, and on new technologies for renewable energy, in particular on fuel cells.

John has been involved since 2009 in DECISION’s surveys in the field of security for the European Commission (DG-ENTR) and the French government.

John K. Olliver graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and is fluent in French, English, and German.
